OUR JOURNEY

Our unique business model was born in 2006 with Two Cups cafe. We combined a warm & engaging customer focus with super fast customer service & quality espresso coffee in a fun & efficient work environment. We won some awards:

  • BEST CAFE
  • BEST BARISTA
  • NATIONAL FINALIST 2011: Best Coffee House

After opening 3 new cafe outlets across Brisbane (The Blue Poppy, Jimbo & Co. & The Butcher Cafe) our operation evolved to encompass:

  • scouting locations
  • identifying target markets
  • negotiating retail & commercial leases
  • completing shop-fits
  • recruiting & training cafe teams
  • up-skilling baristas & cafe staff
  • cafe management succession planning

We built every individual cafe outlet from nothing into thriving, sustainable, profitable operations employing dozens of hospitality superstars. Our success was under-pinned by very effective retail & food systems design. Coffee training has always been a part of our business model - we have never hired a barista. By recruiting & training our own food & beverage service teams we are able to develop junior talent for future management opportunities.

OUR FIFTH CAFE BUSINESS

Eva Street Privateer was born out of a desire to provide all students with the same successful training we have provided our own cafe staff, barista's & business managers. As employers, we are well-placed to help job seekers understand what managers are looking for in a job interview. As a vocational training provider we offer the most transferable & practical skills relevant to getting a job - these are genuine outcomes that our larger clients simply call "SPEEDSCHOOL".

The best way to get a job is to train on the job - with the right people! We employ cafe staff & trainers who value a culture of awesome customer service & quality, speedy espresso coffee. This means all our trainers possess the unique, current & relevant skills & knowledge to guide our students. Our team is made up of real, high-volume barista's, cafe managers & even students who have previously trained with us & been successful in getting a job!

We offer the most credible, practical & current hospitality training available. Our students possess a clear edge in careers that value the most transferable skills: a strong work ethic, effective communication skills & the ability to work in & lead a team. These are the skills that employers look for & will build self-confidence for job seekers. We aim to bring the "service" back to the food service industry by personalising our training workshops, having real industry leaders as trainers & keeping our groups small enough to offer individual guidance. We want our students to learn from the best, in a real business environment.
